What is WaterChain?
WaterChain is blockchain-backed digital certificate infrastructure that enables organizations and individuals to issue, manage and independently verify trusted digital certificates.
What is a WaterChain Blockcert?
A WaterChain Blockcert has a unique certificate identity and lifecycle record. The contract records separate salted commitments derived from the certificate number and document SHA-256 fingerprint; the original document remains off-chain.
Can anyone verify a certificate?
Yes. Public verification is designed to work without a wallet or login. A certificate number or the original document can be used to verify the record.
Does the document need to be stored on the blockchain?
No. The document remains off-chain. Its SHA-256 fingerprint is used to derive a salted cryptographic commitment recorded by the contract. The original file can then be checked against the off-chain certificate evidence record.
